Nobodysits down.

A Midlands four-piece who have spent fifteen years working out exactly what fills a dancefloor.

How we turn up

One band, one set, one price. The only thing that changes is what we are wearing — pick whichever suits your room and the rest of this page stays exactly the same.

What actually turns up

Everything below is included in the price unless it says otherwise. No separate hire, no day-of surprises.

Two hours of live music, and no silence around it
Two sixty-minute sets or three forty-minute sets, whichever suits your running order. Either side of those your own playlist runs through our PA, included — send us yours or we will build one with you. If you would rather the music was steered live, one of us will work the decks instead.
A sound engineer travels with us
Not a band member squinting at a mixer between songs — someone whose only job is making the room sound right and keeping the evening running. It is the difference between a band that is loud and a band that sounds good, and it is included.
Everything arrives in the van
PA, lighting, the lot. You do not hire anything separately and nobody asks you where the power is on the day.
Suited or in basketball vests, your call
The same four musicians and the same set either way. Tell us which suits your room and we turn up dressed for it — there is no difference in the price.
Your first dance, learned properly
Send us the song. We rehearse it, and we play it live. If it genuinely cannot be done as a four-piece we will tell you before you book, not after.
One person handles your booking
You deal with a member of the band from first enquiry to load-out. There is no account manager and no middle layer.
Fifteen years of doing this
We have played the difficult slots: the late finish, the tiny stage, the wedding where the schedule slipped an hour. It is rarely a surprise to us.

Hear us

One is our studio recording. The other is live audio from an actual gig, crowd and all, so you can hear the difference before you book rather than after.

Live at a real wedding

1 min

Live audio from an actual gig

Recorded in the room on the night, not in a studio — so you are hearing the band exactly as your guests would, crowd and all.

The studio version

4 min

Studio recording

Recorded and mixed properly in an empty sports hall, so you can hear every part without a hundred people singing over the top.

What people said afterwards

They had people up dancing that we've never seen shake a hip before.

Wow what can we say? Amazing. 100% awesome. White Men Can't Funk. Well yes they certainly can. They had people up dancing that we've never seen shake a hip before. The band went above and beyond. Even the sound check was brilliant. The kindness of the guys was just so genuine. They gave their everything to us and to our guests. We cannot thank White Men Can't Funk enough for everything. You guys are truly wonderful and more than we could have wished for. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Laura & Dan Morris
The lads got really into the spirit of the night and funked the hell out of us.

Well what can we say, the funk made our Wedding/Halloween celebration the best party we could ever have hoped for. The lads got really into the spirit of the night & funked the hell out of us. Our new favourite band by a long shot. Long live the mighty White Men Can't Funk, you made our party extraordinary & memorable for all the right reasons. Big love to the funk.

Every song was performed so well and we did not stop dancing.

White Men Can't Funk were absolutely amazing! Every song was performed so well and we did not stop dancing! A really lovely bunch of guys who got the party started. We would highly recommend them (and will do) to anyone ever looking for a band in future. Thank you for making it a night to remember!

Phil Jefferies
The sound engineer handled us perfectly.

The band were super professional and good guys. They sounded amazing… The sound engineer handled us perfectly, even sweeping up broken glass from the drunk groom's mismanagement of his whiskey and coke! We partied all the way to the end of the night and by then the guests still couldn't get enough, demanding encore and more songs. We had a great night, thank you!

Some of these name White Men Can't Funk, which is what the four of us were called when they were written. We are Nothing But Anthems now, and nothing else has changed.

What it costs

From £2,214, all in, whatever day of the week you are booking, and less again if you pay by bank transfer. Pick what you want, add your date and venue postcode, and the price updates as you go. Nothing is committed at this stage.

Getting married abroad? We have travelled overseas for shows before and are glad to do it again, but flights and freight change the maths enough that a calculator cannot do it justice. Tell us where and we will put a price together.

The practical questions

Are you the band that used to be White Men Can't Funk?

Yes. The same four of us played under that name for fifteen years. We are Nothing But Anthems now, and Pump Up The Jams when we are suited. The line-up, the set and the vests are exactly as they were, and you book us direct.

How long do you play for?

Two sixty-minute sets or three forty-minute sets. We fit around your running order rather than the other way round, and a DJ set covers the gaps so the room never falls silent.

How much space and power do you need?

Roughly 5m by 3m for the four-piece, and two standard 13amp sockets on separate circuits. If your room is tighter than that, tell us and we will work out whether it is doable before you book.

How long does set-up take?

About ninety minutes, and we would rather do it before guests are seated. If the schedule does not allow that, we can arrive early and set up behind closed doors instead.

Are you insured, and is your equipment tested?

Yes to both. We carry public liability insurance and our equipment is PAT tested. Your venue can have the certificates in writing as soon as you ask.

Do you travel outside the Midlands?

Regularly. Anything within about an hour of Rugby is included in the price, because we travel by car. Beyond that we hire a van and charge £1 for every mile driven, there and back, which the quote tool works out for you. Venues more than about two hours away also carry a £250 accommodation charge.

What time do you finish?

Midnight as standard, which is what most venues are licensed to anyway. If yours allows later and you want us to stay, it is £250 for each hour past midnight. The live sets stay the same length — you are paying for the later night, not for more music.

Is there music between the sets?

Yes, and it is included. Send us your playlist and we will run it through our PA, or we will build one with you — either way the room never goes quiet and every song is one you chose. If you would rather the music was steered live instead, one of the band will work the decks beside the stage and take requests as the night goes, for £200.

Our venue has a noise limiter. Is that a problem?

Not usually. We can bring an electric drum kit, which is what normally trips a limiter, and keep the rest of the rig inside the venue's limit. Tell us the decibel figure when you enquire and we will say honestly whether it will work.

Do we need to feed you?

Hot food for five on the night, which is the four of us and our sound engineer. Most venues add it to the evening catering. If you would rather not, there is a £25 a head buyout instead and we sort ourselves out.

Do you play outside the UK?

Yes. We have experience travelling abroad for shows and we are glad to do it again. The quote tool only handles UK postcodes, so get in touch and we will put a price together for you — flights, freight and hired backline all change the maths, so it is worth a conversation rather than a calculator.

Can you learn our first dance?

Almost always. Send us the song when you book. If it genuinely cannot be reproduced by this line-up we will say so up front rather than let you find out on the night.

What happens if a member of the band is ill?

We use a small, fixed pool of deputies who already know the set. You get a band of the same size playing the same material, and we have not missed a booking yet.

How do we pay?

A deposit confirms the date and the balance is due before the event. Everything is set out in the booking contract, which you see and sign before any money changes hands.
